Our Story

Founded in 2017 by Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kochar, Maximalist Studios brings together the creative eye of a seasoned decorating editor with the entrepreneurial spirit of a Stanford graduate.

Eddie Ross — Chief content creator

Prior to launching Maximalist Studios, Eddie trained as a chef at the Culinary Institute of America and went on to produce content for Martha Stewart Living, Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful and Food Network. In his 2015 book, Modern Mix: Curating Personal Style with Chic & Accessible Finds, he shares his insider knowledge on how to create exciting interiors, table settings and events with chic, unexpected objects and works of art.

 Parlaying these talents into a singular vision for expressing beauty, crafting visual narratives, and inspiring others to explore their creativity, Eddie launched Maximalist Studios and serves as its Chief Content Creator.

Now his images tell new stories, infusing every product photographed—from sofas to salt cellars—with an editorial sensibility that surprises and delights consumers. Eddie’s passion for collecting fuels a growing prop house of vintage and new finds, while his dream to teach classes in the living arts—from food and flowers to gardening, styling and entertaining—finally has a home.

Jaithan kochar — chief executive officer

Running the studio’s operations is Chief Executive Officer, Jaithan Kochar, who collaborates closely with Eddie on every project to execute deliverables on time and within budget. He liaises personally with every client, guiding them through production from concept to completion.

Jaithan holds his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and earned a Master of Interior Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has designed the interiors of restaurants, clubs, hotels and retail environments around the world. Jaithan has also written for publications such as Better Homes & Gardens, House Beautiful, Southern Living, and Hamptons magazines and co-authored Modern Mix: Curating Personal Style with Chic & Accessible Finds.
